the New Solstice

The New Solstice is a band that I am in. It is comprised of me and my friend Andrew Moberly. Our music is very open and all instrumental. I wanted to capture our style with an open, peaceful, and free website.

I decided to use some new techniques such as CSS3 and HTML5. I based the whole template off of the HTML5 Boilerplate. It gave me a lot of flexibility and had me working with jQuery, a reset template, and other fun goodies right from the start. I was able to set up a lightbox opening an iframe very quickly. It is used as one of the features on the site.

Extras

I also included a very very simple contact form. Once submitted, the user is provided with feedback after they submit at the top of the screen.

Creating this template was no small task in Photoshop. It is comprised of 4 different images sewn together. All images are color treated and given a subtle texture. I didn't have any limitations on this website. It was very fun to design and develop it.
